Was horrified when Joyce's son uncovered a couple of pieces of jewellery in Joyce's jewellery box hidden in a secret compartment Joyce had shown him as a child that Julie/Madge didn't know about. Also suspected of stealing a military medal from the Box of Wonders.

Neville and Madge (or Julie as she was going by at this time) advised Neville's children he and "Julie" were going away for the weekend to look at a property at Bathurst. When they returned they advised they were married. A marriage certificate was never seen so there were doubts, however Births Deaths and Marriages verify a marriage between a Neville James McGrath and Madge Irene Saunders at Bathurst in 1968.
